12 – Day 6 – the way you do the things you do

Day 6 : Five ways to win your heart

1. Be on-time

Look, I don’t care. This one is definitely on the top of this list.I try not to expect much, living in Jakarta out of every possible choices on earth. But seriously, if you can be on-time to any appointment, I would know that you are making the extra effort to live up to your promise, and to show your respect to me. And that is a big plus for me.

2. Be chill

By chill, I don’t mean a “yo chill dude” behaviour. What I mean is when you get over-clingy to someone you are or intend to be close with? I know people usually would want to spend as much time with the other person, but a little acknowledgement that everyone needs to have a personal life would be very much appreciated.

3. Have a certain taste for music

I’m not asking much here. I know I have a very peculiar taste in music, so to have someone with at least a similar taste of music would be awesome, but rather impossible. However, as long as you have a certain taste instead of just an “oh I like most stuff all the time, I mostly just listen to random songs on whatever radio is on at the time” behaviour, or even worse, the “meh whatever,  they all sound the same to me”, which just means you don’t like music. I can’t deal with that. I’d rather have someone be “you know what, I still think NSYNC is the greatest gift ever to humanity, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.”. But that way, I know you have a taste.

4. Like coffee

Okay, this is more like me asking you to tolerate my coffee habit. If I’m around you, chances are I’m gonna need to ask you for some coffee time.. most of the time. Hence, if you’re an anti-coffee person.. Well, we kinda have a problem then.

5. Be into football

This one might sound very trivial. But honestly, having been watching football since I was 2 years old, this is an important thing to me. Very important, in fact. And I’ve always found that the connections that I’ve made always easily stepped up a level once I found out that the other person likes football. If anything, it’s my favourite conversation topic. Ever. And yeah, bonus points for you if you like the same clubs (yes, multiple. I’m being generous here) I do 😉

11 – Day 5 – the sights, the sound, the experience.

Day 5 : List five places that you want to visit

In no particular order, the five places that I want need to visit are:

India

Now this, I’ve always wanted to go. Nearly everything about the country has intrigued me for the longest time. My love story with Indian food during my stay in Singapore was the stuff of legend. Considering that now I have so many friends in various parts of the country, it’s almost a big shame how I haven’t visited the country yet.

Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam

Yes, I know I’ve been here before, but it was back still in winter time. I need, and I must, go back there during spring or summer and experience the sunflowers, on top of the marvellous collection in the museum. I know for sure that place is one place I will always enjoy being at, no matter what time. I know I haven’t been to a lot of museums in my life, but I do know for sure that I am that much in love with this place.

Hawai’i

Usually when I tell people about this particular wish on my bucket list, they just go “Why don’t you just go to Bali? It’s pretty much the same”. I know I haven’t made it there yet, but I’m sure it’ll be different. I’m not so much a beach person, but I certainly would love me some ocean breeze. Plus, the culture and the way people just live so chill most of the time, I just need to experience it at least once.

Liverpool

Pretty much an obvious thing to be put here. I need to be in Liverpool, end of story. Why? Where do you want me to start? The music? The culture? The football? Do I need to explain myself any further on this one?

Weserstadion, Bremen

So yes, blame the Werderaner in me. But seriously, I personally find it infuriating how I’ve been to Germany twice and yet both times I couldn’t manage to visit Bremen. Yes, still mentally kicking myself in the head for this. I do need to visit Bremen, with the special agenda which is to watch a Werder game (duhhhh) in Weserstadion. Plus, a stadium by the riverside? With the world’s awesome-est floodlights and all? Hell yes, I definitely need to be there.
